Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how OathLock (the "App"), including the Android app, the iOS app and the Chrome extension, handles information. The App is published by TOOLBOX SERVICES (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, a company registered in Pakistan ("we", "us").
The short version
- OathLock does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your block lists, timers, presets, quotes and session history are stored only on your device.
- We do not sell, share or use your data for advertising, and the App contains no ads or third-party trackers.
- Browsing activity used for blocking is checked on your device and never sent to us or anyone else.
Information processed on your device
To block apps and websites, the App needs to know which app or website is open while a focus session is active. This check happens entirely on your device. It is not recorded as a history, not uploaded and not shared.
Android
| Permission | Why OathLock uses it |
|---|---|
| Accessibility Service | Detects when a blocked app or website is opened, so it can be closed and replaced with the block screen. It does not change your settings. It is not used to read your messages, typed text or any other content. |
| VPN Service | Creates a local, on-device filter that blocks the website addresses on your list. No traffic is sent to any server operated by us or any third party. It does not inspect page content. |
| Device Administrator | Prevents OathLock from being uninstalled while a session you started is running. It is not used for any other device policy. |
| List of installed apps | Lets you choose which apps to block. |
| Usage access | Backup method to detect the app in the foreground, and for optional daily time limits. |
| Notifications | Shows the session countdown and tells you when a session ends. |
iPhone
On iOS, OathLock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. When you pick apps and websites, Apple gives the App only anonymous tokens, not the names of the apps or sites. Blocking is enforced by iOS itself. Screen Time data stays on your device and is never shared, as required by Apple.
Chrome extension
The extension stores your block list and timer in your browser's local storage and checks website addresses locally to redirect blocked sites. It does not collect or transmit your browsing history.
Purchases
Payments for OathLock Pro are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts from Apple or Google. It is not linked to your name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Crash reports
If you choose to share diagnostics through Apple or Google's built-in crash reporting, they may share anonymous crash data with us. We use it only to fix bugs.
Support emails
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Children
OathLock is a self-control tool for adults and teenagers managing their own devices. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Deleting your data
Because your data is stored on your device, uninstalling the App (or removing the extension) deletes it. There is no account to delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. As we hold no personal data beyond support emails, you can exercise these rights by emailing us.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the App.
